My Musings – When was then? Immediately following Jesus’ Olivet Discourse, which He closed by relating how the goats will be separated (“to eternal punishment”) from the sheep (“to eternal life”) and then stating “as you know, the Passover is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.” (Matthew 26:2, NIV 1984).

Crucifying Jesus was meant to silence Him. To put an end to His teaching. Instead of an ending with a period, it was a beginning with an exclamation point. No other event in history has changed the world more, because it changed the eternal destiny of all who put…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
