Have You Learned The Secret?

“I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:11–13, NIV 1984).

My Musings – “I know worrying works, because [most] of the stuff I worried about never happened.” (Will Rogers). Worrying is not the answer. Easy to say, harder to put into practice. “Being content in any and every situation.” Also, easy to say. Even harder to put into practice. So, what’s the secret? “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”

My Advice – Have you learned the secret? You won’t in your own strength. Certainly not by worrying.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
