“One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13–14, NIV 1984).

My Musings – “Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future. ” (John F. Kennedy). Blame and regret belong in the past. The only thing we should bring with us from the past are the lessons we learned that will prevent us from repeating the mistakes of the past. The race to be run lies before us, not behind us. Accepting responsibility for what lies before us is another thing that helps prevent us from repeating the mistakes of the past. The past is falling, the future is calling.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
