How Long Will You Waver?

Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.”
But the people said nothing. (1 Kings 18:21, NIV 1984).  

My Musings – Christianity is not a smorgasbord of beliefs where you pick and choose the things of God that you like, disregarding the rest, and blend them with the things of the world that you like into your own comfortable religion. One must choose.  Either all in or not at all. When you commit your life to Christ, you surrender all.  This is not performance to gain admittance. It is admittance by grace through complete surrender, followed by a committed lifestyle.  There will be slips and falls along the way, but not wavering means you always come back.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
