Christ Has Indeed Been Raised

If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. (1 Corinthians 15:14-15, 17, NIV 1984).

My Musings – That’s a big if (supposing that the resurrection is false), and it should be considered by anyone seriously seeking the truth. But it is equally true that the opposite should also be seriously considered – suppose that the resurrection is true.

The implications should not be taken lightly. A useless and futile faith or the key to forgiveness of sins and eternal life if we repent and believe, or eternal damnation if we do not.

“But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn: Christ, the first fruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.” (1 Corinthians 15:20–23< NIV 1984).

My Advice“Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and consider the great love of the Lord.” (Psalm 107:43, NIV 1984). It is wise to consider these things. but foolish to not heed them if the resurrection is true. This is not merely about forming an opinion. The stakes are too high for that. It is a question of what is truth that will determine one’s eternal destiny.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
