Keeping the Peace

Isaiah 26:3You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. (NIV 1978)

My Musings – There is a lot of talk about peace today, but only God can give a true peace that will last.

My Advice – Do not waver in your trust in God. It will give you peace in your heart and a sense of calm that cannot be explained, even in the most difficult situations.

So It Will Be

Isaiah 14:24“Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand.” (NIV 1978)

My Musings – No one and no thing can prevent God from accomplishing the things that He has planned.

My Advice – Be comforted by the fact that God has a plan for your life and that He can deliver.

There Was A Time

Isaiah 5:20 – Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put biter for sweet and sweet for bitter. (NIV 1978)

My Musings – There was a time that it was very easy to identify right from wrong. We live in a time where the “social justice” is turning everything upside down while convincing the unsuspecting that things are right side up, that God’s laws are out-of-date or no longer valid.

My Advice – Beware of the social conscience of today’s society. What is promoted as right, fair and just is many times wrong, unfair and unjust. Be familiar enough with God’s word that you can put everything to the test.

Stain Remover

Isaiah 1:18Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. (NIV 1978)

My Musings – No stain in our life is so set that God cannot cleanse it completely.

My Advice – Never let Satan fool you into thinking that any sin you may have committed is too bad for God to forgive. Or that you have been in a sinful state for too long to be let out. God is greater than anything you might have done.

Awakening

Song of Songs 2:7Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires. (NIV 1978)

My Musings – All too often, we rush into relationships thinking that it is love, only too get burned. Better to wait for the love that God has planned for us.

My Advice – Wait for the love that God has planned for you. Matches are made in heaven, and they are perfect. He knows who is best for you and who you are best for.

Is Christ-Like in Attitude

Matthew 11:29 – “Learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart.” (NIV 1978)

My Musings – It seems almost contradictory that the Creator of the universe, exhibiting the fullness of God, with everything under His power, would choose the role of a servant. Knowing that everything was under His power He could have exercised that power. Instead Continue reading “Is Christ-Like in Attitude”

The Third, Fourth and Fifth Bowls

THE THIRD BOWLThe third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say: “You are just in these judgments, you who are and who were, the Holy One, because you have so judged; for they have shed the blood of your saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.” And I heard the altar respond: “Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and just are your judgments.” (Revelation 16:4-7)

The third bowl extends the judgment of the second bowl on the sea to the fresh-water rivers and springs, which also turn into “blood.” John heard the angel in charge of the waters proclaim that God the Holy One is “just in these judgments.” This judgment is God’s response to the shedding of the blood of the saints and prophets.(1) In God’s system of justice, Continue reading “The Third, Fourth and Fifth Bowls”
