Who Is My Equal?

“To whom will you compare Me? Or who is My equal?” says the Holy One. Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. (Isaiah 40:25, 28, NIV 1984).

My Musings – He is beyond comparison. No one, no being, is even close to His equal. Satan, who conspired to “make [himself] like the Most High,” (Isaiah 14:14, NIV 1984), by his own words (“like” or damah) knew he could not be God’s equal, only at best resemble or be compared to God. God would never be compared to Satan.

Only the God Head is everlasting, no beginning and no end. Satan, the angels, and mankind were all created. They all had a beginning. As far as His understanding, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8–9, NIV 1984).

My Advice – Satan was cast down. The unredeemed will be cast out. Someday, “we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before Me; every tongue will confess to God.'” (Romans 14:10-11, NIV 1984). It is best to do that now, while it still counts for entrance into His Kingdom.
