All that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. (Exodus 14:21–22, NIV 1984).
When Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. (Matthew 27:50–51, NIV 1984).
My Musings – The sea between them and the Promise Land, the Egyptians at their back. Then the sea separates providing a path to the promised land. Which side of the sea would you want to be on?
An impregnable veil of sin separates us and our Creator and eternal life. Death and destruction at our backs. With a cry of “it is finished” the veil is torn in two from top to bottom. Which side of the veil do you want to be on?
My Advice – It was an easy decision for the Israelites. It even simpler for you and me. “He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:10–12, NIV 1984). Now is the time to decide.
