True North

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter [who put north for south and south for north]. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
and clever in their own sight.  (Isaiah 5:20–21, NIV 1984). 

My Musings – Scientists are telling us that a “polar flip” (where magnetic poles reverse) may be in our near future.  North becomes south and south becomes north.  Of course, it is only the magnetic north that is “going south.”  Geographic north, or “true north,” will be unaffected as it is determined by the earth’s axis, which is unchanging.  Opinion’s vary on the implications of a polar flip from not that significant to catastrophic.

Over the last generation or two we have witnessed a different kind of “polar flip,” where the world’s moral compass …
