My Musings – The immediate context of this passage is the Exodus of the Israelites from their bondage in Egypt. This was not the first time that God came down to rescue His people (e.g., Noah and the flood), nor was it the last time. “For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.
