Children Of A Smaller God

“The temple I am going to build will be great, because our God is greater than all other gods. But who is able to build a temple for him, since the heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain him? Who then am I to build a temple for him, except as a place to burn sacrifices before him?” (2 Chronicles 2:5–6, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Did you ever re-visit some of the places of your youth and swear that they were much larger back then? The skyscrapers in the “big city?” The bluffs overlooking the hiking trails? That amusement park? Your old grade school? The church you used to attend. You get the idea.

It seems to me that we used to have a bigger God when I was younger. He was big enough to create the universe in six literal days, or make it seem much longer (eons)…

I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives.
