No More Doubt

The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true.” (Revelation 22:6a, NIV 1984).

My Musings – This is the third time that “these words are trustworthy and true” (or similar words) have been spoken to John (Revelation 19:9 and 21:5). In this world, we are sometimes slow or hesitant to believe that God is as good as He is. In a fallen world, what seems too good to be true usually is not true. Especially when the promise or prophecy seems to take too long to be kept or fulfilled. But these are not the dreams of an idle visionary, but the realities spoken from the throne of God to the disciple He loved and that are ratified by Christ Himself.

My Advice – We have witnessed unimaginable things in our musings through Revelation. But just because our minds are too limited to imagine them, does not make them untrue. “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19, NIV 1984). Do not doubt the word of God. When He speaks, we should make up our mind to believe and act.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
