Tax Collectors And Prostitutes

Jesus said to them [the Chief Priests and Elders], “I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.” (Matthew 21:31–32, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Apparently it is much easier for people living in the dark to see the light than it is for those who consider themselves to be enlightened.

“The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” (Matthew 4:16, NIV 1984).

Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind [people living in the dark] will see and those who see [consider themselves enlightened] will become blind.” Some Pharisees, who were with him, heard him say this and asked, “What? Are we blind too?” Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.” (John 9:39–41, NIV 1984).

My Advice – It is not impossible, of course. Don’t let yourself be “blinded.”
