I Believe in the Forgiveness of Sin

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.  (Revelation 21:1–8, NIV 1984).

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23, NIV 1984).

The wages of sin is [the second] death.  (Romans 6:23a, NIV 1984).

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8, NIV 1984).

But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (Romans 6:23b, NIV 1984).

This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. (Matthew 26:28, NIV 1984).

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.  (Romans 8:1–3, NIV 1984).

My Musings – I believe in the forgiveness of sins.  (The Apostles’ Creed).  No Savior, no forgiveness, for all have sinned. No forgiveness, no salvation, second death.

My Advice – But there is a Savior.  Only One and He is Jesus Christ.  So there is forgiveness of sin.  For those who seek God’s forgiveness (only through Christ), there is no condemnation.  No second death.  Seek Him while He may be found.
