My Musings – Talk about being counter-cultural. But we have a higher calling than the culture that surrounds us. And maybe, just maybe, by doing this one thing we can rescue some who have been otherwise trapped by the culture.
“They pull a knife; you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue.” (Sean Connery, as Jim Malone in “The Untouchables”). Okay, so maybe our culture isn’t quite there yet. The trajectory, however, is not too encouraging. But if things are to be turned around, it will not be by following the culture.
My Advice – Live counter-culturally. Yes, your body may get trampled on. But your soul will remain untouchable. “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:1–2, NIV 1984).
