Remembering Our Upbringing

Esther 2:2She [Esther] continued to follow Modecai’s [adoptive father of Esther] instructions as she had done when he was bringing her up.

My Musing – When we grow up and become our own masters, there is much that we should continue to follow and do from what we learned from our parents and grandparents.

My Advice – Remember the instructions in the faith that you learned from your mother and me. Things we taught you and things you saw in us. To the extent we were faithful in doing that, follow what we taught you.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
