As Long As The Earth Endures

As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”  (Genesis 8:22, NIV 1984).

My Musings – “As long as the earth endures.”  If the threat of global warming is as precarious as many claim, then this can only mean that “the end is near.”  Until that time, the general pattern of  “seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” That is the promise of God Almighty.  There are some tribulation judgments recorded in Revelation that very well could accompany global warming.  But the signs we should really be looking for are not how many average degrees the earth’s temperature has increased over how short a period of time.  The signs to pay attention to were given by Jesus in His Olivet Discourse.  And like “birth pains,” many of these signs are increasing in frequency and intensity.

My Advice – Make sure you are ready for a “change in the seasons.”  For “as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came.”  (Matthew 24:37–39, NIV 1984).

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
