Original post May 1, 2019. The world has gone the way it has chosen to go- a darkness of its own making when it bowed down to the Prince of darkness. God is not to blame for any of this darkness, and is under no obligation to bring His light into it. Yet when darkness falls, when tragedy strikes, when evil seems to have the upper hand people ask “where is God in all of this?” He is where He has always been, it is we who have moved. Yet His restraining hand is there, holding back even greater darkness, tragedy and evil. On there, on a lonely hill, when daytime gave way to darkness in mid-afternoon, God’s Son cried “it is finished!” From that point, although it was never in doubt” darkness lost and light won. Where was God in all this? Watching His Son die so we might live.
1 John 1:5 – This is the message that we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. (NIV 1978)
My Musings – Unlike the “force” there is no dark side to God.
My Advice – Defend the faith. Do not let anyone portray God as unjust without standing up for Him.
