Whatever It Takes

That night the king could not sleep.   (Esther 6:1, NIV 1984).

My Musings – For Moses, it was a burning bush.  For Joseph, it was dreams. For Samuel, it was a voice calling in the night.  For Elijah, it was a still small voice.  For Paul, it was a blinding light and the voice of Jesus. For Xerxes, it was a restless night.  God will use whatever it takes to get our attention and fulfill His plans for us and the world around us.  Satan thought He had God’s attention with a cross on a hill.  But God got his attention with a stone that would not stay put.

My Advice – What’s keeping you up at night? Pay attention to that still small voice. God might be trying to tell you something.  You might not get a burning bush or a blinding light.  But that does not mean God’s not trying to get your attention.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
