“Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?” (Acts 26:28, NIV 1984).
“That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.” (Acts 24:24–25, NIV 1984).
“I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2, NIV 1984).
My Musings – The truth be told; we really are hungry for what is good for us. The problem is, we like our cookies too much. Everyone has their own favorite “cookie,” and all too often our desires for them cause us to set aside our desire for what is good for us. Thinking we’ll have plenty of time later on for what is good for us, we settle for the “cookies” now, putting off what really is good for us until a more convenient time.
My Advice – Now is the day. A more “convenient” time may never come. God’s favor is not something to be put off. Won’t you be persuaded? We may really only have a short time left, before it is too late.
