Swept Away or Stand Firm?

“What the wicked dreads will overtake him; what the righteous desire will be granted. When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.” (Proverbs 10:24–25, NIV 1984).

My Musings – The storm is definitely coming.  The clouds are gathering round. Will you be swept away, or will you stand firm?  This is forever that is at stake.

My Advice – We need not dread the coming storm, if they are in Christ Jesus (born again).  Whether swept away or it merely sweeps by leaving us standing is entirely up to us.  Check out my blog series, “The Born Again Experience.”  It can prepare you to stand firm in the face of the coming storm.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
