“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20, NIV 1984).
My Musings – An ambassador is an authorized or messenger or representative. Christ has authorized (actually commissioned) us to represent Him, on His behalf, to those who need to be reconciled (restored to fellowship) with God. It is crucial that an ambassador be thoroughly familiar with not only the one he represents, but the one he is making the appeal to. This certainly requires a relationship with the one being represented, but is also most helpful with the one being appealed.
My Advice – Improve your relationship with and your knowledge of Christ (small groups, Church attendance, prayer, and study of the Scriptures). Be prepared always to give an account of what and why you believe in Christ and to genuinely care for (be relational with) those God has called to make His appeal through. Consider your ambassadorship to be both an honor an a privilege. Be faithful to your commissioning.
