Don’t Hide From The Seeker

“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:12–13, NIV 1984).

My Musings – As frightening as this might sound, it is even more so for those who are not frightened by it.  We need to let it penetrate and judge.  We must let it be laid bare before our eyes for it is certainly laid bare before His.  If we fail to do this, how can we come to the foot of the cross for His forgiveness?

My Advice – Pay attention to His Word.  It will either judge us or lead us to repentance.  There is no middle ground.   We are only fooling ourselves if we think we can hide from it.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
