Not Always A Straight Line

When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.  (Exodus 13:17–18).

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.  (1 Corinthians 10:13).

My Musings – God does not take us into situations where we are likely to fail.  He will lead us around them until we are ready to face them.  So, when we think we are going through impossible situations know this — they are not impossible.  If they were, we would not be facing them.  But remember this — we don’t go it alone.  We don’t get cocky.  We go in the power of the Holy Spirit, not on our own.

My Advice – Go in the confidence of the Lord.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
