“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.” (Ephesians 4:17–19, NIV 1984).
My Musings – “Nobody I want to talk to.” An unfortunate response when the Holy Spirit convicts one to accept Christ as their Savior. Perhaps they find the time inconvenient. They might feel like they have a lot of living to do and the Christian life would be too constraining, at least for now. But the longer this goes on, they run the risk of becoming “darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.” They lose all “sensitivity” to spiritual matters and are unable to identify the caller. Ultimately, after repeated neglect, the calls may stop coming.
My Advice – Don’t let this be you. Now is the day of salvation.
