In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. (John 14:1–3, NIV 1984).
My Musings – “In my Father’s house are many rooms…I am going there to prepare a place for you” And it’s free. “Now, I know what you’re thinking. ‘Okay, what’s the catch?'” There is no catch. There is no fine print. What was void because our sin nature prohibited us from keeping the law, is available through the grace of God. For we “are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.” (Romans 3:24–25, NIV 1984).
Furthermore, once received, there is no expiration date. No risk of being evicted. When we’ve been there a hundred and ninety-five million years, we’ve no less time to sing God’s praise than when we first begun. Amazing grace!
My Advice – Once received, there is no expiration date. But in this life, we do have an expiration date. If the gift is not received before that, there is no advance token to Boardwalk, no passing Go, no collecting $200, no mansion in the sky. Believe me when I say, you want the room with the view.
