Make Your Choice

Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.  (Joshua 24:15, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Some earnestly profess faith in Christ, but get pre-occupied with making a living instead of making a life.  Pursuing happiness instead of experiencing joy. Driven by ambition instead of compassion and humility.  Intent on making a name for themselves rather than proclaiming the name of Christ.  We must seriously ask ourselves who it is that we are serving.

My Advice“How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if [insert what is distracting you] is [your] God, follow [it].” (1 Kings 18:21, NIV 1984). Choose and follow through. “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and [something else].  (Matthew 6:24, NIV 1984).

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
