These Little Ones

“If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!” (Matthew 18:6–7, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Mankind, in general, has chosen a path that is contrary to the moral laws of their Creator.  So the degradation of society that we are witnessing should come as no surprise.  “Such things must come,” because of these choices.  While we must bear personal responsibility for the wrong choices that we make, the ones through whom they come do not get off the hook.  In fact, Jesus takes special note of them (i.e., ” woe to the man through whom they come!”).  Especially if the ones they are wrongly influencing happen to be children.  These influencers come in many guises. Some obvious (sex-traffickers or abusers, drug-pushers, etc…) and some not quite so obvious (developers and promoters of school curricula that are contrary to the natural order of God’s creation).

My Advice – Let’s do our best to protect impressionable children from these abuses.  Some of which are being handed down by our legislators, school unions and school boards.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
