No one will be declared righteous in [God’s] sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.  But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  (Romans 3:20–23, NIV 1984).

My Musings – No one ever has, or ever will be found righteous according to God’s standard of righteousness by observing the law.  This would be a righteousness from ourselves and not from God.  The law merely sets the standard and makes us aware how impossible it is to measure up, to hit the mark.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
