In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1, NIV 1984).
My Musings – English philosopher Herbert Spencer came up with a great discovery for which he was heralded. He said, “Everything knowable in the natural world fits into one of five categories. Everything is either time, force, action, space, or matter.” Everything in existence fits into one of those categories. Listen to this, first verse in the Bible, “In the beginning” – that’s time – “God” – that’s force – “created” – that’s action – “the heavens” – that’s space – “and the earth” – that’s matter. What Herbert Spencer didn’t discover until the nineteenth century, God wrote in the first verse of the first chapter of the first book in the Bible and gave us all the categories we needed for everything. (From “How to Study the Bible,” by John MacArthur).
Who says the Bible is not scientific? God is behind everything (except sin) that is knowable. Everything in existence. Time, space and matter did not suddenly spring into existence without the action of a preexistent force. That force is God. Kind of awesome, isn’t it?
My Advice – Take some time to praise Him!
Amen, sir! Happy Thanksgiving! Blessings! 😊🙏🦃
