Lessen The Regrets

The Brew Is A Musing

As the LORD commanded his servant Moses, so Moses commanded Joshua, and Joshua did it; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.  (Joshua 11:15, NIV 1984).

My Musings – I suppose I am not all that old yet, but having just hit sixty-five does cause one to pause and reflect.  Many who do so, look back with a host of regrets.  “Of all the words of mice and men, the saddest are, it might have been.” ― Kurt Vonnegut.

Others, look back with little to regret. “Regrets, I’ve had a few, but then again, too few to mention.  I did what I had to do, and saw it through without exemption.” — Lyrics from a song popularized by Frank Sinatra (and later by Elvis Presley).

But how many can it be said that they “left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded?”

My Advice

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
