“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10–11, NIV 1984).
My Musings – “Today in the town of David.” There had to be a place and time for the coming of the Messiah. It was a time known only to the Father, although the place was foretold centuries beforehand. There will be another day, also known only by the Father when the Son will return. Again, we know the place because it was foretold centuries ago.
My Advice – “Twodays,” separated by centuries, but filled with many todays. What are you doing with your today? “See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. As has just been said: ‘Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.’” (Hebrews 3:12–15, NIV 1984). What better day than today to experience a new birth.?
Amen! Merry Christmas, sir! God bless!
