The Almighty is beyond our reach. (Job 37:23, NIV 1984).

My Musings – There is more to this verse, but the thought conveyed here is what I wanted to emphasize in today’s musings.  It is more than physical distance that keeps Him beyond our reach. Reaching Him is far beyond our capability.  Satan, “who was the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty…blameless in [his] ways from the day [he was] created till wickedness was found in [him]” (Ezekiel 28:12, 15, NIV 1984), thought he could reach the Almighty and even become like Him. He said, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
