[The serpent] said to the woman, “Did God really say…?” (Genesis 3:1, NIV 1984).

When the woman saw that [it] was good…pleasing to… and also desirable…she took. (Genesis 3:6, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Just sow the seed of doubt and whet the worldly desires. A simple, but effective strategy. Nearly as old as creation itself. Yet still being used in today’s “enlighted” age of reason. Take for instance the Jesus Seminar. Did Jesus really say or do that? What difference can questioning one little thing about the Word make? Even the smallest seed of doubt can begin to germinate, and the most dormant desires can be awakened. Taking away just one letter turns “likes” into “lies.” Before you know it, we are not putting up with sound doctrine.

My Advice – Believe it all, or not at all. We cannot serve two masters.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
