Strange Happenings

“Do you refuse to speak to me?” Pilate said. “Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?” Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above.” (John 19:9–11, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Absent a wide-spread revival, dark days lay ahead. We may find ourselves in situations where others will seemingly have the power to free us or claim our very lives. Seemingly. In reality, they will have no such power unless it is “given to [them] from above.” We know there was good reason that it was given over Christ. We should also know, if it comes to it, there will be a good reason if it is given over us.

My Advice“Do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.” (1 Peter 4:12–13, NIV 1984). Stand firm and confidently in Christ.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
