“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”  (John 13:34–35, NIV 1984). 

My Musings – Brotherly love, it’s getting rarer in the world today, but what about the Church?  People get upset. Rather than work to resolve it, or if not resolved to their liking, they forsake the local assembly and move on to a church that is more to their liking.  Until the next thing that upsets them.  My brothers and sisters, “this should not be.”  If our ability to get along is indistinguishable from the world, how will all men (and women) “know that [we] are [His] disciples?

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
