The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch. (Acts 11:26, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Mr. Wabash: I go even further back than that. Ten years after The Great War, as we used to call it. Before we knew enough to number them. Higgins: You miss that kind of action, sir? Mr. Wabash: No, I miss that kind of clarity.

Do you miss the clarity of days gone by? Wouldn’t it be nice if the designation of Christian was all the clarity that was needed? No need to preface it with an adjective like born again, nominal, evangelical, progressive…. And the Church. Wouldn’t it be nice if that is all that was needed? Not Catholic or Protestant. Not Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Episcopalian, etc….

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
