At The Cross

Remember the wonders He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He pronounced. (1 Chronicles 16:12, NIV 1984).

My Musings – These days there are many who are skeptical about His wonders and miracles, while outright denying His judgments. But even within those who remember (acknowledge) His wonders and miracles, there are many who dismiss His judgments (not the god I serve!). A God of wonders, we can deal with. A God of judgments, we don’t even like to think about. But there cannot be grace without judgment. No justice without judgment.

My Advice – I don’t think we really want a God who did not judge evil and injustice. But knowing that He does, we want to make sure our judgment was dealt with at the cross.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
