Weeping For The Children

A voice is heard in [Uvalde], mourning and great weeping, [a community] weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because her children are no more. (Jeremiah 31:15, NIV 1984).

My Musings“The kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Luke 18:16, NIV 1984).

Beyond the door
There’s peace, I’m sure
And I know there’ll be no more
Tears in heaven.

I must be strong
And carry on
I hope it won’t be long
Before I join you in heaven.

— Adapted from “Tears in Heaven,” by Eric Clapton.

My Advice“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4, NIV 1984). But for now, there are tears and mourning, “refusing to be comforted, because her children are no more.” Pray for the families of Uvalde who “must be strong and carry on.”

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
