The LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.” Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.  (Isaiah 49:13–16, NIV 1984). 

My Musings – It’s easy to feel forsaken and forgotten these days.  But not by God.  People are fickle. Governments rise and fall.  The “darlings” of Wall Street come and go.  A time is coming where even “brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.” (Mark 13:12, NIV 1984).

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
