Though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity. (Hebrews 5:12–6:1, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Why is it that there are so many of us that are merely content to sit back in comfort and ease in our pews (when it is convenient for us, and of course when there is no pandemic) and be “mediocre” Christians? Don’t let the sermon be too long, or too deep. And by all means don’t let it make us too uncomfortable…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
