The Brew Is A Musing

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16, NIV 1984).

My Musings – I believe in God, but not all that stuff about creation. I believe Jesus died for our sins, but that rising from the dead is a bit far-fetched. I believe in grace, but some of the morality taught in the Bible is a bit outdated. I believe in the truth, but truth is relative. I believe in Heaven, but Hell? Seriously? I believe that’s what the Bible says, but not what it means. I believe that Jesus in one of the paths to God, but not the only path.

Any of these sound familiar? They are couched in such nice sounding terms as, tolerance, science, progressive, enlightenment, inclusive, and co-exist, to name just a few. All of these are positive things when used in the right context…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
