My Musings – Oxymoron, a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction. Like “do nothing.” Here are a few more.
- They were the victims of an apparent burglary, but nothing was “found missing. “
- No one was the least bit surprised, as it was an “open secret.”
- The disturbance caused a “small crowd” to gather.
- He was caught by surprise but did his best to “act naturally.”
- It was a huge disappointment leaving her feeling “fully empty.”
- They were very pleased to have found an “original copy.”
- You are allowed to get “together” as long as you socially “distance.”
- Things began to get out of hand and turned “pretty ugly” in “no time.”
