The Brew Is A Musing

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life.  (Deuteronomy 30:19, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Oxymoron, a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction.  Like “do nothing.”  Here are a few more.

  • They were the victims of an apparent burglary, but nothing was “found missing. “
  • No one was the least bit surprised, as it was an “open secret.” 
  • The disturbance caused a “small crowd” to gather. 
  • He was caught by surprise but did his best to “act naturally.”  
  • It was a huge disappointment leaving her feeling “fully empty.”  
  • They were very pleased to have found an “original copy.”  
  • You are allowed to get “together” as long as you socially “distance.”  
  • Things began to get out of hand and turned “pretty ugly” in “no time.”

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
