Time To Break Camp

The Brew Is A Musing

The LORD our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance. ” (Deuteronomy  1:6–7, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Ever plateaued in your spiritual pilgrimage?  Of course you have.  We all have.  It can get quite comfortable.  But at some point we need to “break camp and advance.”

My Advice – Maybe during the pandemic we were just camping out.  Not all that involved with the things of God.  Not all that involved in community.  Perhaps God is telling us that we’ve “stayed long enough at this [plateau]?”  It’s time to get back in the game.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
