The Brew Is A Musing

Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.  (Psalm 127:1, NIV 1984). 

My Musings – Ignorance and misinformation can handicap.  Leadership must be guided by the lights of learning and reason— or else those who confuse rhetoric with reality and the plausible with the possible will gain the popular ascendancy with their seemingly swift and simple solutions. 

There will always be dissident voices heard in the land, expressing opposition without alternative, finding fault but never favor, perceiving gloom on every side and seeking influence without responsibility. Those voices are inevitable.  But in today’s world, freedom can be lost without a shot being fired, by ballots as well as bullets.

The success of our leadership is dependent upon respect for our mission in the world as well as our missiles — on a clearer recognition…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
