This Is What The Lord Says

This is what the LORD says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—the LORD Almighty is his name: “Only if these decrees vanish from my sight,” declares the LORD, “will the descendants of Israel ever cease to be a nation before me.”  (Jeremiah 31:35–36, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Jeremiah was speaking of a future when the ” the descendants of Israel” would be restored. When He would make a new covenant with them. In 1948, Israel was restored as a nation. God’s “final solution.” I do not see them ever being uprooted ever again. Unless, of course, the sun ceases to shine by day, the star by night, the waves of the sea cease to roar, or the decrees of His word vanish. It could happen–nah.

My Advice – I think it best to be on the side of the nation that God covenants with.
