So, [man] created [God] in his own image, in the image of [man they] created Him. (Genesis 1:27, MCV*, 2022).
My Musings – My God wouldn’t do this, or my God wouldn’t do that. How many times have you heard comments like these? Unable to accept God as described in His “autobiography” modern culture has created God in their own image. The way they want Him to be. But not just one version of God, as many as there are people to please. The modern twist on polytheism. What’s more, no one is willing to criticize the “god” of someone else, unless that someone else believes in the God of the Bible. Not the corrupted or revisionist version of modern man.
But God says, “I AM WHO I AM.” (Exodus 3:14, NIV 1984). Not who you want me to be or think that I should be. And God says, “Hear, O [mankind]: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.” (Deuteronomy 6:4, NIV 1984). Not the multiple personages that a misguided society would have Him be. He is “the LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished.” (Exodus 34:6–7, NIV 1984).
My Advice – Why makeover God into whatever image of who you would like Him to be? There is no sharper image than who He says He is. He is already perfect. Any other “version” is imperfect at best, blasphemous at worst.
