To Tell the Truth

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be silent and a time to speak. (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 7, NIV 1984).

My Musings – “It is better to be divided by truth than to be united in error. It is better to speak the truth that hurts and then heals than falsehood that comforts and then kills. It is better to be hated for telling the truth than to be loved for telling lie.” (Adrian Rogers).

Amen, Adrian Rogers. When it is time to speak, there needs to be guidelines and boundaries.

My Advice – What we speak must always be the truth. Whether popular or not. Sometimes it may hurt but it should never be hurtful. Aimed at healing. If not, perhaps it is best to be silent.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
