The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7, NIV 1984).
My Musings – “The Hebrew here does not say ‘a living being became man.’ Man is not formed from pre-existent life.” (The Reformation Study Bible, 2015, p.14). Just the opposite “man became a living being.” You can believe theories and textbooks devised and published by fallible man. Or you can believe the infallible One who “formed the man,” and whose “breath of life” caused “man [to become] a living being.”
My Advice – “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will [believe], whether the [theories proposed by infallible scientists], or the [published textbooks that propagate those theories]. But as for me and my household, we will [believe] the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15, NIV 1984). Consider this: it has often been the case that theories based upon scientific study and evidence ultimately prove to be false rather than true. That is my belief of what will happen to the scientific theories that suggest that a pre-existent “living being became man.”
Absolutely on point brother! God’s Word clearly gives us only one true account.

Good post. ‘You can believe theories and textbooks devised and published by infallible man’. I think that’s ‘fallible’ man?? (seedsinmotion)

You are so right, and I am living proof. Thanks for the catch. I think I am going to have to credit you as my editor.
