The Brew Is A Musing

“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”  (James 4:4, NIV 1984). 

My Musings – Wow!  Pretty strong words.  Friendship with the world (i.e., the world system) is equated with spiritual adultery.  Makes me wonder about what I read on social media recently.  “Could it be, the reason we feel so anxious is that we have made ourselves too at home here?  We fear losing what we have in this world more than we long for what we have in Heaven.” 

My Advice – Something worth reflecting on.  God, and His standards have “stayed the same,” while the world has gotten much worse.  Have we changed (lowered) our standards?  How else could “we fear losing what we have in this world more than we long for what we…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
